There are a variety of ways that organizations and individuals can become more involved with the Central Florida sports scene and the sports commission:
Corporate Partnerships
The Central Florida Sports Commission (CFSC) provides opportunities for your organization to become involved in the thriving Central Florida sports market as a corporate partner. CFSC's partners enjoy the benefits of corporate name and logo exposure at all CFSC sponsored events, links on the CFSC web-site, VIP tickets and parking passes to all CFSC sponsored events and invitations to all social programs providing networking outlets. Corporate partners also receive a seat on the CFSC advisory board, as well as the ability to use the CFSC and the Orlando Sports service mark. A partnership investment allows for association with community growth, tangible business opportunities and access to thousands of potential customers.

Internship Opportunities
The Central Florida Sports Commission (CFSC) employs student interns on a semester basis, as part of our efforts to offer meaningful educational and training experiences for those highly motivated students interested in a career in the sports marketing and event industry. The sports commission also provides students with the opportunity to help extend our organization's sports marketing and event planning efforts by contributing their fresh and creative thinking, keeping sports commission programs and events progressive and cutting edge.
Internship position description. There is no standard day at the sports commission; however, interns can expect to be involved in the following activities:
- Assist the 15-member sports commission staff in day-to-day operations.
- Work with sports commission staff in generating research and background information on various sports organizing committees (e.g. USOC, NCAA, AAU) and the events open for bid internationally and nationally.
- Participate in a variety of meetings and planning sessions that support the sports commission's ongoing programs and upcoming events (event logistics, bid presentation, public relations, sponsor recruitment and fulfillment, financial planning, etc.
Skills required. Practical knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: advertising, marketing, accounting, communications, sports management, event planning, finance and economics.
You should be able to demonstrate computer literacy in one or more of the following programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe PageMaker.
You should also have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. In particular, we are always on the lookout for the intangible qualities of motivation, enthusiasm, initiative and dedication.
Time requirements. The Central Florida Sports Commission currently offers semester internships during the Spring, Fall and Summer terms. Starting and finishing dates vary according to time of year. Also, the number of interns employed each semester is based upon the corresponding amount of event activity for that semester, which varies.
While work schedules are flexible for interns, each student must work the number of hours required by his or her educational institution in order to earn the anticipated internship credit hours. Also, keep in mind that students applying for a sports commission internship position need not be currently earning credit at his or her school to be considered as a candidate.
You should also be aware that the sports commission requires a minimum time commitment of 20 hours per week, with additional hours required for those events held on weekends.
